This limited edition rum is a tribute to Louis and Charles Isautier who founded the oldest distillery on Reunion Island in use to this today.  It is an outstanding blend in equal parts of agricultural rum aged for 22 years and traditional rum aged for 14 years.  The two rums were nurtured  in our cellar, initially in new French oak barrels for 6 to 14 months and subsequently in older barrels known as ‘fûts roux’ for the remaining years.
Flavours
The agricultural rum lends smooth, rounded qualities, while the traditional rum lends freshness and intensity.  Well-balanced, rich and with a subtle oakiness, Louis & Charles is a delicate, sensual rum with an exuberant finish.  On the nose there is superb aromatic finesse; exotic precious wood together with a lightly roasted quality and hint of pepper. Refined and long-lasting on the palate, the exceptional richness blends with notes of citrus and vanilla. The long, harmonious finish reveals extraordinary freshness and a light hint of ocean spray – so characteristic of Isautier old rums.
Serving suggestions
Perfect as an aperitif or digestif.  Serve at room temperature in a stemmed glass. Also delicious accompanied with rich, dark orange chocolate!

The rums are crafted in a column still and nurtured in our cellar, in bespoke fine-grained French oak barrels during at least 3 years. Subsequent chill filtration ensures the finest expression of their organoleptic qualities. Our meticulous procedures and attention to detail are key to the outstanding quality of our rums.
